In a 32-year study that included more than 2.3 million Danes, roughly one out of 1,000 first-time mothers were admitted to a psychiatric hospital with a mental illness such as depression, schizophrenia or bipolar disorder within the following year -- most within the first three months.Among the suspected culprits: hormones, sleep-deprivation, and "the demands of breast-feeding." Indeed.Mothers were four times more likely than women without children to be hospitalized with a mental illness. During the first 10 to 19 days, the risk was seven times higher compared to women with children who had reached 1 year of age.

I have three kids. I love 'em to bits. I HATE taking care of them. But, because I love them, I do it. Whenever I meet a couple or indivual who's thinking about having children, my advice is "DON'T! Enjoy your freedom!" I may sound like a hypocrite, but the truth is there's people who want kids and people who don't. I respect both choices. People who ascribe moral judgements on either side are stupid. It's not right or wrong to have children. It's not right nor wrong not to have children. BUT, if you do have children, you better step up and care for them -- even if they're an "accident".
oh my god, ur all mad. luckily not everyone subscribes to ur way of thinking otherwise the human race would no longer exist. your lives will be very cold and empty in your older years, with very lonely christmas's n birthday. All because you've selfishly decided that you are not strong enough women to enjoy motherhood. I pity you all.

I pity the fact that the only thing that gives you life meaning is your kids. It must be sad to have nothing else to offer the world.
Amen Ashley. Thank goodness some of us have real talents.
